[1401_interest] Timing of 1402 8/2 stacking

Here's a question about the operation of the 1402 that isn't answered by
A24-1403 (page 10 says "however, card merging can be accomplished under
certain, very limited conditions"). It would be nice to know the
answer, to get SimH right.
If one is stacking cards from the reader into stacker 2, and cards from
the punch into stacker 8, which are the same (8/2) stacker, and the read
and punch instructions are issued close together in time, does the
just-read card get stacked before or after the previously-punched card,
or do they jam, or ...? Remember that punched cards stop between the
punch station and the stacker selector until the next punch instruction,
while just-read cards arrive at the stacker selector after 10ms.
Here's a program to try it out. Run it with blank cards in the reader
and punch feeds. It will feed cards through the punch without punching
them, until the reader runs dry. Try it with plenty of cards first to
see if it jams. Then try it with a few cards in each feed, with
different color ones, or with the ones in the punch feed upside down, to
figure out what the order is. If the cards in the punch are A, B, C...
and the ones in the reader are 1, 2, 3... I suspect the order is 1, 2,
A, 3, B, 4, C,..., but it might be 1, A, 2, B, 3, C....
